Arjun

Filmmaker | Film Critic | Curator | Writer

Arjun K is a Kerala-based filmmaker and film critic whose work bridges fiction, documentary, and experimental cinema. With a background rooted in history, memory, and philosophical inquiry, his films challenge narrative conventions while maintaining strong socio-political relevance. He is the director of K Pop (2025), Dialogues on Emancipation (2023), and the award-winning short Two Deaths (Randu Maranangal), which premiered at IDSFFK.

His story for Valasai Paravakal, screened at IFFK (2023), exemplifies his continued interest in diaspora and displacement narratives. Arjun has served as a jury member and panelist at key film festivals including IFFK and the Independent and Experimental Film Festival of Kerala.

As a film critic, Arjun’s essays—published in journals like Chalachitra Sameeksha—offer deep engagements with auteurs such as Kumar Shahani, Béla Tarr, and Ashish Avikunthak. He is also the President of Taliparamba Film Society and actively curates experimental film programs and discussion forums across South India.
