HERE AND NOW
The series is about the ‘here and now’ of the photographer while he takesphotographs as a performer-photographer from a live performance. This series is to exhibit the photographs with a photographers performance. This will give a horizon to the public the presence of photographer with his movement, stillness and invisible activity of taking a photo in a live performance.
My question
How will be the body of a photographer when taking photos ?
Background
Photographers are invisible while capturing photos especially for performance. I was working for the last twenty five years as a photographer and I never looked at the above question till last year. In May 2022, I got an invitation to be a part of a performance to perform as a photographer in front of the public. The performance tilted ‘Floating Bodies’ is inspired from the photographs of Rohingya refugees taken by photographer Bernat Armangue for Associate Press which were later published in many newspapers in India. A movement artist and a photographer perform the photograph in a parallel way. Abheesh Sasidharan did the conceptualization under the banner Techno Gypsie. I and the movement artist ,Fawas Ameer Hamsa were in the performance. I was following his movements and taking photographs and doing live lighting. It was interesting to me to capture the moment in front of the public in a visible way and it was comfortable because
I am familiar with photography

Loved it 😊
Great 👍
